Location: William Tennent High School
Terms of Employment: 180 days
Time: M-F 6.5 hours a day, Full-Time with benefits
Pay Range: Min: $18.15 Mid: $21.78 Max: $25.41
JOB GOAL
Provides students and staff with a nutritional, eye-appealing meal while ensuring a clean, sanitary, and safe working environment according to regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Serves students, faculty, and staff and replenish food on serving line.
2. Assists with food preparation as instructed by supervisor.
3. Apply principles of safe and sanitary food handling; preparation and storage.
4. Verifies adequate supply, portion control and proper display of food; maintain correct food temperatures.
5. Sets up serving lines with utensils and foods (hot and cold). Serves on the line.
6. Cleans all items used including trays, pots, pans, and utensils.
7. Cleans and sanitizes work area, counters, tables and other equipment; cleans up spills as they occur in the kitchen work area.
8. Assumes responsibility for laundry.
9. Cleans refrigerators and storeroom shelves.
10. Assists cashiers at serving time; performs point of sale processes according to established procedures; ensure security of daily receipts.
11. Completes daily production report, and other reports as assigned.
12. Provides set up for meetings and work banquets, as needed.
13. Participates in all required training.
14. Assists manager in monitoring staff work assignments.
15. Assists with inventory.
16. Assists the manager to ensure overall sanitation and security of the cafeteria area, including food preparation, serving, and storage areas.
17. Assist manager in training food service workers in proper and safe performance of their jobs, the use of the computer point-of-service program, all food prep and use of all kitchen equipment.
18. Assume the responsibilities of the Food Service Manager in the Manager's absence.
19. Knowledge of weights, measures, and portion control.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School Diploma
2. 1 year of Food Service experience
3. Eligibility for Food Sanitation Certificate issued by BC Department of Health
4. ServSafe Certification
Performs other duties as assigned.
Performs in accordance with school policy, administrative regulations, state, and federal laws.
