Job Overview
We are a growing organization that is currently small but with significant growth plans over the next 5 years. We are lean and seeking a dynamic, hands-on HR and Payroll Manager to lead our payroll functions and assist our HR functions with energy and precision. This pivotal role involves overseeing payroll processing, benefits administration, workers compensation and leave processing, and helping with employee relations, talent management, compliance, and to provide a compliant and engaging workplace environment. Duties
- Manage payroll administration to ensure accurate processing of wages, benefits, and deductions.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations such as FLSA, state payroll laws, FMLA, OSHA, workers' compensation policies, and labor law requirements across all HR practices.
- Assist with employee onboarding programs including orientation sessions to integrate new hires effectively into the company culture.
- Assist with sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and facilitating hiring processes that attract top talent.
- Assist with employee performance management initiatives including evaluations, employee relations, conflict resolution, and training & development programs.
- Drive process improvements in HR operations through data analysis skills and system optimization.
- Assist with benefits administration programs ensuring employees understand their options while maintaining compliance with legal standards.
- Facilitate communication between managers and staff regarding HR policies, organizational changes, and strategic initiatives.
- Monitor HRIS data collection accuracy to support workforce analytics that inform decision-making at all levels of management.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in payroll systems such as Paychex, ADP, Workday, or equivalent; proficiency in data analysis skills is essential.
- Proven experience supervising HR functions with a strong understanding of human capital management principles.
- Extensive knowledge of employment & labor law including FMLA regulations and OSHA standards.
- Some experience in talent acquisition strategies.
- Experience in training & development initiatives as well as performance management processes to enhance employee engagement.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex information clearly to senior leadership and staff alike.
- Familiarity with HRIS and payroll platforms. We use Belfry.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail in budgeting and program management tasks.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
