Job Title: Testing Technician
Location: Nokomis, Florida
BACKGROUND:
We are an independent third-party testing, inspection, and certification organization with an established world-wide network of qualified affiliates.
This is a hands-on Technician position involves the testing of building products in accordance with applicable technical standards and specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with construction, power tools, product testing, or window/building-product testing and a strong desire to develop technically.
Flexibility in work schedule and working overtime, if needed, is ideal.
DUTIES: The successful candidate will perform, but not be limited to, the following duties:
- Set up and assemble test fixtures and laboratory equipment.
- Carry out thermal, physical, and performance evaluations of building-related products.
- Follow established testing procedures, specifications, and applicable industry standards.
- Record, review, and analyze test results and assist with technical documentation.
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical requirements as needed.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory and work area.
- Support testing activities independently and in collaboration with technical and operations personnel.
- Build knowledge across testing methods and take on greater responsibility as experience develops.
- Provide technical assistance to internal teams and customers when required
- Other duties as may be assigned by their manager occasion to occasion.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will, as minimum, have:
- Hands-on experience with tools, equipment, construction, or product testing.
- Ability to read and follow technical documents, drawings, and testing procedures.
- Familiarity with ASTM or other industry standards is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in a hands-on laboratory environment.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel.
- Forklift experience/certification is an asset.
- Willingness to learn, develop technical skills, and take on increasing responsibility.
