Purpose: The Chemical Application Technician is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and professional turf care services while protecting customer property, the environment, and Turfscapes brand. This position is responsible for accurately mixing and applying fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, and other products according to company procedures, maintaining application equipment, providing excellent customer service, and documenting all work performed. Success in this role is measured by application quality, route efficiency, customer satisfaction, safety, and profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Apply fertilizers, pre-emergents, post-emergents, insecticides, fungicides, and specialty treatments according to Turfscapes standards.
- Safely mix chemicals according to labeled rates and company procedures.
- Understand every chemical being applied, why it is being applied, and associated risks.
- Follow all state and federal pesticide regulations.
- Maintain a current Texas pesticide applicator license (or obtain as required).
- Complete applications accurately using LMN.
- Document weather conditions, property conditions, and customer notes.
- Take required before and after photographs.
- Place yard markers after every application.
- Notify customers as required before applications.
- Inspect each property for weeds, insects, disease, irrigation issues, and additional service opportunities.
- Recommend additional services when needed.
- Safely operate Z-Sprays, backpack sprayers, nurse tanks, spreaders, and other application equipment.
- Maintain accurate chemical inventory and mixing records.
- Order chemicals and supplies as directed.
- Maintain clean, organized vehicles and equipment.
- Properly store chemicals according to company procedures.
- Respond appropriately to chemical spills.
- Follow all PPE requirements.
- Participate in safety meetings and ongoing training.
- Perform any other assigned duties.

Daily Responsibilities:
- Inspect truck and application equipment before leaving the shop.
- Agitate nurse tanks and Z-Spray tanks before beginning work.
- Review daily route.
- Contact customers requesting same-day notification.
- Perform daily equipment inspections.
- Complete every property following the Every Job Operating Procedure (EJOP).
- Record all required information in LMN.
- Photograph property before and after applications.
- Inspect lawns for weeds, insects, fungus, drainage issues, irrigation problems, and additional sales opportunities.
- Apply products accurately.
- Leave yard markers.
- Clean up spills immediately.
- Refuel truck and equipment.
- Clean vehicle.
- Refill water and chemical supplies.
- Verify inventory for the following day.
- Wash equipment twice weekly.
- Secure chemicals before leaving the property and at the end of each day.
Weekly Responsibilities:

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
