Duties
- Lead and supervise snow plow crews to execute timely and effective snow removal across designated areas
- Operate heavy machinery such as snow plows, salt spreaders, and loaders with precision and safety
- Assess weather conditions and plan snow removal strategies accordingly to minimize disruptions
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance during operations
- Coordinate with other maintenance teams for additional landscaping or groundskeeping needs during winter or off-season periods
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during snow removal activities to protect team members and the public
- Document daily operations, equipment usage, and incident reports for accountability and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery including snow plows, excavators, or similar construction equipment
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on power tools and landscaping machinery
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise a team effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of snow removal operations, procedures and labor delegation
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and safety procedures related to construction and groundskeeping tasks
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and emergency responders when necessary
- 24/7 availability in winter months is a must
- Smart phone for communication with other workers and documenting work
- Ability to work long hours as conditions permit
