Duties:
- Set up and operate Bystronic press brake and other fabrication equipment to bend, shape, and form metal parts according to technical specifications and work orders.
- Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine precise bending angles, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Setup, program, and operate the press brake to produce high quality parts from a wide variety of materials.
- Safely and efficiently run/use all tools and machines involved in the completion of parts.
- Periodically test operation of machines for any issues.
- Inspect all finished products for accuracy and uniformity to ensure product quality and uphold company reputation.
- Maintain tools and equipment in a clean and orderly manner and report all equipment problems.
- Material handling (loading and unloading of material)
- Accurately count, tag, and route parts to the next operation
- Select correct machine settings and tooling for optimal forming operations
- Program and adjust machine settings to ensure accurate and consistent part production.
- Collaborate with team members, including programmers and engineers, to optimize bending processes and troubleshoot any technical issues.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and upkeep to ensure equipment remains in optimal working condition.
- Monitor and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality control standards and specifications.
- Follow safety protocols and company procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance the overall production process.
Qualifications:
- Experience operating press brake or similar metal forming equipment
- Must be able to read and comprehend technical drawings and documents (blueprints, tolerances, specifications)
- Ability to use standard measuring devices
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- A history of strong attendance
- Ability to stand, walk and lift up to 70 pounds
- Strong communication skills
- Basic computer skills for data entry and machine control
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
