About The Narrative Method
The Narrative Method (TNM) is a California-based nonprofit organization dedicated to building meaningful human connection in an increasingly disconnected world. Founded in 2012 by award-winning marriage and family psychotherapist Shari Foos, TNM ‘s evidenced-based methodology is rooted in its 12 Core Concepts and creates opportunities for people of diverse backgrounds and lived experiences to connect through reflection, creativity, and authentic conversation.
Through online salons, participants gather in safe, judgment-free spaces to share their stories, deepen self-awareness, and build genuine relationships with others.
Position Summary
The Salon Technology Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring the smooth technical operation of TNM’s online salons and helping create a seamless, welcoming experience for participants. The role serves as the technical backbone of each salon, managing the Zoom platform, supporting participants, and assisting facilitators so they can focus on leading meaningful conversations. This is a part-time remote position averaging approximately 10 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Training
· Complete training on TNM’s salon technology protocols and procedures.
· Participate in practice sessions with a trainer until proficiency is demonstrated.
Live Salon Management
· Manage participant admission and verify attendee registration.
· Monitor the chat and respond to participant questions.
· Troubleshoot Zoom and participant technical issues.
· Create and manage breakout rooms.
· Capture screenshots throughout each salon for organizational use.
· Address technical disruptions and help maintain a respectful, welcoming online environment.
Post- Salon Responsibilities
· Record participant attendance and information in organizational spreadsheets or databases.
· Complete any required post-session technology or administrative tasks.
Salon Schedule*
· Sundays, 8:15 – 9:45 am PDT
· Mondays, 1:45 – 3:15 pm PDT, 4:45- 6:15 pm PDT
· Tuesdays, 3:45 – 5:15 pm PDT
· Wednesdays, 3:45 – 5:15 pm PDT
· Thursdays, 4:45 – 6:15 pm PDT
*We will consider candidates who are able to participate in the majority of salons, even if they are unable to commit to the full schedule.
Qualifications
· Reliable, high-speed internet connection.
· Strong proficiency with Zoom, including breakout rooms, chat, participant management, and troubleshooting.
· Excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
· Strong communication and customer service skills.
· Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented under pressure.
· Sound judgment when responding to technical issues or participants concerns.
· Flexible and dependable, with the ability to work the scheduled salon times consistently.
· Commitment to creating a positive and welcoming experience for all participants.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
