Job Overview:
A Fabricator/Welder’s responsibilities typically include welding, cutting and assembling metal components based on blueprints and specifications. Skill levels are categorized as Level 1 (entry level), Level 2 (intermediate) and Level 3 (advanced) with increasing complexity and independence expected in each level. Construct metal structures, components, and equipment according to shop drawings and job specifications utilizing proper welding techniques and fabrication tools to produce high-quality products, ensuring adherence to safety standards and project requirements.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Follow and adhere to the Business Ethics and Code of Conduct of Reliable Asphalt Products, Inc.
- Adhere to safety standards, company policies, and procedures
- Performs more complex welding tasks, including welding in multiple positions (3G, 4G) and with different
materials like pipe, steel and aluminum. Welding tasks include tack and MIG, TIG, FCAW and Stick welding
on various materials to include steel and pipe welding with minimal errors.

- Cut, shape, and assemble components using various fabrication techniques, including welding, cutting, bending, and grinding.
· Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications, to include weld symbols.
· Select appropriate welding rods and filler materials for specific applications.
· Inspect welds for quality and dimensional accuracy
· Advanced in all aspects of metal fabrication including layout work and fitting complex components.
· Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure smooth workflow and project completion.
· Communicate progress, challenges, and recommendations to supervisor and team members as necessary.
· Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow established safety procedures when operating machinery.
· Fully Trained and will operate forklifts, reach trucks, cranes in a safe manner at all times.
· Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper storage and disposal of materials and waste.
- Attend weekly scheduled departmental L10 meetings as directed by supervisor.
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Job productivity at a pace based on timelines and budgets set by shop manager and yourself.
- Proficiency in at least two welding processes (ie: MIG, TIG, Stick)
- Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
- ability to work under moderate supervision
- Ability to perform welds in multiple positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead)
- Experience with various fabrication tools, such as shears and plasma cutters
- Understanding and application of heat shrinking and straightening techniques for stainless steel
- Able to enter time worked with all other needed information In app provided
· Use of PPE and proper safety measures.
· Works scheduled work week of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, OT as requested.
· Good attendance a must with proper use of available PTO (paid time off)
Required Education and experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Completion of a welding program or relevant experience
- Proven experience as a welder or metal fabricator in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
· Has earned or in the process of earning an advanced certification (e.g. AWS, ASME)
- Familiarity with welding equipment, tools, and machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Strong customer focus and decision-making skills
Environment:
- Working in heat and cold environments, not a closed insulated shop
- will be lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying large objects

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.14 - $30.00 per hour
