Responsibilities
- Develop and execute engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards and curriculum development best practices.
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and social-emotional growth.
- Manage daily classroom activities, including toddler care, preschool teaching, and physical education to support holistic child development.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, milestones, and any concerns related to childhood development or welfare.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records of student assessments, attendance, and progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, classroom management techniques, and early intervention strategies for children with special needs or additional support requirements.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, demonstrating strong classroom management skills.
- Knowledge of child development instruction principles across various age groups including toddlers and preschoolers.
- Proficiency in curriculum development tailored to early childhood education standards; experience with literacy education and math integration is highly desirable.
- Ability to implement behavior management techniques effectively while fostering a positive learning environment.
- Strong communication skills for parent engagement, team collaboration, and documentation purposes.
- Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention programs, and childhood welfare policies.
- Certification in first aid and CPR; understanding of mandated reporting laws is essential.
- Experience teaching physical education activities that promote motor skills development; background in standardized testing or tutoring is a plus.
