Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Japanese Cuisine Line Cook to join our vibrant culinary team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook traditional Japanese dishes such as tempura, ramen, bento boxes, and other specialty items with attention to detail and authenticity
- Follow recipes and menu specifications accurately while maintaining consistency in flavor and presentation
- Ensure all food safety sanitizing procedures are strictly adhered to, maintaining a clean and organized work station at all times
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient selection and preparation techniques for Japanese cuisine
- Handle food production efficiently during peak hours, supporting high-volume meal service without compromising quality
- Maintain proper food handling practices, including knife skills for precise cutting and portioning of ingredients
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely delivery of orders
Experience
- Proven culinary experience in Japanese cuisine or fine dining settings, with a strong foundation in authentic food preparation techniques
- Previous kitchen experience in a high-volume restaurant or catering environment is highly preferred
- Familiarity with food safety management standards and sanitizing procedures specific to the food industry
- Experience with various cooking methods such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food preparation techniques relevant to Japanese dishes
- Knowledge of dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is a plus but not required
- Strong knife skills combined with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
