CAP Speech Therapy is expanding, and we're looking for the right Occupational Therapist to help us build something special.
This is our first time bringing occupational therapy into our practice, so we're not just looking for someone to treat a few patients. We're looking for an OT who wants to take ownership of the OT side of the practice and help us build it from the ground up.
We are a small, growing pediatric practice that believes therapy should feel personal, collaborative, and actually fit into a child's real life. Our speech therapists work closely with families and each other, and we're excited to bring an OT onto the team who can add another layer of support for the children we serve.
What we're looking for
We're looking for a pediatric OT with strong clinical experience, particularly in sensory processing, who is comfortable working independently and wants the flexibility of a per diem position.
You would have the freedom to take on as little or as much as you'd like as referrals come in. There is no expectation to commit to a set number of hours. You can start small and grow your caseload if and when it feels right for you.
Our ideal OT is someone who:
- Has a strong pediatric background
- Has solid experience with sensory processing and regulation
- Enjoys working with children with autism and other developmental differences
- Believes in functional, individualized, child-centered therapy
- Is comfortable providing parent coaching and helping families carry strategies into everyday routines
- Enjoys collaborating with other therapists
- Is confident working independently and managing their own clinical caseload
- Has an entrepreneurial mindset and would be excited to help shape and grow a new OT program
This role is bigger than direct therapy
Because OT is new to our practice, we would love to find someone who wants to become our OT expert and point person.
You would have an opportunity to help establish how OT fits into our practice, including:
- Developing the OT side of our services
- Helping determine appropriate OT resources, materials, and clinical tools
- Providing guidance to our SLP team on sensory strategies and regulation
- Collaborating with our SLPs when children have overlapping speech, language, sensory, and regulation needs
- Providing parent education and coaching
- Helping families understand how sensory and regulation needs can impact communication and participation
- Potentially helping us grow the OT program as referrals increase
We want your expertise. If you see something that could make our practice better, we want you to be able to bring that to the table.
A note about materials
Because this is a per diem, independent position, the therapist would need to have access to their own appropriate assessment tools and therapy materials necessary to provide services.
Schedule
Per diem | Completely flexible
Take on as little or as much as you want based on your availability and the referrals we receive.
There is potential for this to grow into a larger role over time for the right person.
Why CAP?
We're not a giant therapy company where you're just another name on a schedule.
We're a growing practice where you can actually know the families you work with, know the therapists you're working alongside, and have a voice in how the practice grows.
Our SLP team is excited to learn from an OT, and we'd love to have someone who enjoys sharing their knowledge and helping make the entire team stronger.
If you're an OT who wants flexibility but also wants to feel like you're building something, we'd love to hear from you.
