Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in meal assembly according to standardized recipes and menu specifications
- Cook a variety of dishes with precision, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, slicers, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness of work stations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure food safety management
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service flow
- Assist with menu planning support by preparing ingredients for upcoming dishes and specials
Experience
- Previous food service experience in a restaurant or catering setting is highly preferred
- Familiarity with dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient prep
- Knowledge of food safety standards, including proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to meal preparation guidelines
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen environment
