We are seeking a skilled and reliable Cleaning + Maintenance Technician to join our team in supporting the upkeep and safety of our residential properties within our low-income housing portfolio. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality service to residents, ensuring properties are maintained to meet safety, health, and housing standards. We are looking for an experienced technician with housing cleaning skills and any knowledge of building maintenance and repair needs. This could including HVAC maintenance, minor plumbing, appliance troubleshooting, painting, drywall repair, and other tasks as needed. The successful candidate will work with our dedicated team of Maintenance Technicians and Property Staff.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications preferred (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
- Two years of experience in Property Management maintenance, Hotel maintenance, construction, or similar job experience preferred.
- Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or cleaning services preferred.
- Candidate is expected to work flexible hours/days/weekends if required.
- Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and favorable driving record.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- May require lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
- On-call availability for emergency repairs outside of regular business hours including weekends.
- Exposure to cleaning agents, construction materials, and potentially hazardous conditions.
- PPE provided and safety protocols enforced.
Key Responsibilities: Property Operations
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repairs.
- Conduct regular inspections of building systems and common areas.
- Maintain grounds, including landscaping, snow removal, and trash disposal as needed.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and company standards as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and inventory.
- Perform maintenance on vacant units for rent readiness.
- Clean and sanitize communal areas including lobbies, hallways, laundry rooms, stairwells, and community spaces.
- Perform deep cleaning of vacant units to prepare for new residents, including kitchens, bathrooms, floors, and windows.
Key Responsibilities: Resident Operations
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident maintenance requests.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents regarding repair timeliness or sanitation issues.
- Ensure minimal disruption to residents during maintenance activities.
- Support resident satisfaction by maintaining clean, safe, and functional living environments.
- Assist with unit turnovers, including cleaning, painting, and repairs.
