JOB SUMMARY
St. Petersburg Pediatrics is seeking a compassionate, board-certified or board-eligible Pediatrician to join our growing team. Established in 1965, St. Petersburg Pediatrics is the largest private pediatric practice in Pinellas County and a recognized Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) dedicated to providing high-quality, family-centered care.
The Pediatrician is responsible for providing comprehensive primary and preventive healthcare services to infants, children, and adolescents. This includes performing well-child examinations, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses, providing preventive care and patient education, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents.
- Perform well-child examinations and developmental screenings.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic pediatric illnesses.
- Order, interpret, and communicate laboratory and diagnostic test results.
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans appropriate for pediatric patients.
- Administer immunizations according to CDC and Florida recommended schedules.
- Evaluate and treat minor injuries and illnesses.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and collaborate with consulting providers when appropriate.
- Educate patients and families regarding preventive care, nutrition, development, safety, and disease management.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Finalize patient documentation within 72 hours.
- Maintain patient flow and strive to see scheduled patients in a timely manner.
- Review laboratory results, prescription refill requests, patient portal messages, and other clinical communications promptly.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support the practice's Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) standards.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Medical Assistants, Clinical Team Leads, Site Managers, and administrative staff.
- Participate in provider meetings, continuing medical education, and organizational initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, VFC, and all applicable federal, state, and organizational regulations.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and respect in all interactions with patients, families, coworkers, vendors, and visitors.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while fostering long-term relationships with patients and families.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides clinical guidance and supervision to Medical Assistants and other clinical support staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency Program.
- ECFMG certification required for international medical graduates.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain prior to employment.
- Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics or Board Eligible with certification obtained within five (5) years of residency completion.
- Current DEA registration or ability to obtain.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to obtain credentialing with the practice's contracted hospitals and insurance carriers.
- Maintain newborn nursery privileges at the hospital(s) designated by St. Petersburg Pediatrics.
- Thorough knowledge of pediatric medicine, growth and development, immunizations, infectious diseases, and evidence-based treatment guidelines.
- Excellent diagnostic, clinical reasoning, and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to establish trusting relationships with children and families.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a full-time position. Physicians are expected to work their assigned clinical schedule, which may include daytime and evening clinic hours based on the operational needs of the practice. Providers may be assigned to different office locations as needed.
