Job Opening: Part-Time Administrative Assistant

Position Summary
River’s Edge Community Church is seeking an organized, proactive, and welcoming individual to join our team as a part-time Administrative Assistant. In this role, you will partner closely with the Pastor to manage daily operations, provide vital administrative support for our Sunday morning services in a shared community center space, and help coordinate annual church and community outreach events. This position is central to our mission of serving and loving the Oella neighborhood.
Key Responsibilities
Sunday Service & Communications Support
- Worship Support: Provide administrative and pastoral support for Sunday morning worship services, including preparing worship literature and managing the church's online presence.
- Churchwide Communications: Coordinate, edit, and design "This Week @ River’s Edge" and other community-wide updates.
- Calendar & Service Prep: Maintain the master church calendar and handle logistics for Communion Sundays, Advent, Christmas, and Easter services.
Daily Operations & Logistics
- Office Administration: Manage daily operations by promptly responding to inquiries via phone, email, and the church website.
- Facility Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact with Westchester Community Center building management and fellow tenants to ensure smooth shared-space operations.
Ministry & Event Coordination
- Volunteer Management: Coordinate, support, and help mobilize volunteer ministries for various church activities.
- Spiritual Formation Support: Assist with the administrative needs of spiritual formation ministries, including membership seminars, elder trainings, and Sunday school.
- Community Outreach: Help plan and coordinate major annual neighborhood events, such as our community cook-outs.
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Prior experience working or volunteering within a non-profit or ministry environment is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in basic digital tools (email, digital calendars, and basic design/communication platforms).

Note on Community Alignment: Due to the significant Sunday morning presence required for this role, we ask that applicants either be current River’s Edge attendees or willing to join our church community upon accepting the position.
