Our stylists are compensated through a commission-based pay structure, allowing their earnings to grow based on their services and performance. Apprentice Stylists begin on an hourly pay structure plus tips while they develop their technical skills, gain hands-on experience, and complete the salon’s apprenticeship training program
Responsibilities
- Provide professional hair styling, coloring, hair extensions, and hair care treatments tailored to each client’s preferences and needs
- Assist clients with consultations on hair care routines, styles, and maintenance tips to ensure satisfaction and loyalty
- Maintain impeccable sanitation standards by properly cleaning tools, stations, and work areas in accordance with health regulations.
- Upsell retail products like hair care items, styling tools, and makeup to enhance client results and boost salon revenue
For Apprentice Stylists:
- Assist senior stylists with clients and services
- Practice techniques on mannequins and models as assigned
- Help with laundry, towels, supplies, and general salon organization
- Demonstrate punctuality, professionalism, teamwork, and a positive attitude
- Shampoo, condition, and properly care for clients’ hair
- Perform blow-drying and basic styling as directed
- Prepare stations before and after each service
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work area
- Assist with color preparation, application, and cleanup under supervision
Skills
- Strong knowledge of hair coloring techniques, hair styling trends, and current industry best practices
- Proficiency with salon software platforms such as MINDBODY for scheduling and client management
- Experience working in the beauty industry with a solid understanding of cosmetology principles and sanitation standards
- Skilled in hair extensions application, hair threading, makeup application, nail care basics, and barbering techniques including straight razor shaving
- Excellent communication skills for effective client consultation and personalized service delivery
- Ability to educate clients on hair care routines using sound knowledge of color theory and product recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to upsell retail products through confident client interactions and retail math proficiency
