Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, pruning, and planting to ensure healthy, attractive grounds.
- Operate grounds maintenance and landscaping equipment such as power tools, lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently.
- Identify various plants, native species, pests, and diseases to promote healthy growth and effective plant pest control strategies.
- Manage irrigation systems to optimize water use and support thriving plant life in different weather conditions.
- Conduct plant identification and growing experience activities to select appropriate flora for each project or site.
- Maintain detailed records of pesticide management, pest control measures, and horticultural treatments in compliance with safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their landscaping needs and provide professional advice on plant choices, garden design, and maintenance routines.
Skills
- Proven greenhouse experience with knowledge of plant propagation and care techniques.
- Strong background in landscape maintenance, gardening, farming, or agriculture with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Expertise in horticulture principles including plant identification, native plants integration, and sustainable landscaping practices.
- Familiarity with pesticide management protocols and plant pest control methods to ensure healthy landscapes.
- Experience operating grounds equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, irrigation systems, climbing gear for tree work, and other landscaping machinery.
- Ability to perform climbing safely when working on trees or elevated landscape features.
- Excellent client communication skills to understand project requirements and provide professional guidance on grounds upkeep or garden design.
