POSITION: Food Service Sub
REPORTS TO: Food Service Director
STARTING DATE: As soon as possible
SUMMARY: Performs a variety of tasks in the preparation and cooking of food; performs all related work as required; conforms to schedules established by the Food Service Director.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduate or equivalent.

Pleasant, cheerful attitude toward co-workers, student and adult customers.

Ability to maintain Health Department regulations.
-
At least two years of experience as a Cook or comparable experience.
-
Ability to effectively lead and coordinate the work activities of all kitchen staff in assigned location.

Possession of the necessary physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position.

Maintains Food Safety Manager certification
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Reads and interprets menus and recipes.
-
Operates standard cooking equipment such as mixers, ranges, steamers, slicers….
-
Prepares and cooks food as directed.
-
Maintains equipment and facilities.
-
Manages line service and a la carte items that are assigned.
-
Maintains equipment and facilities.
-
Familiar with and follows all District, State and Federal food service rules and regulations
-
Attends training classes as scheduled.
-
Performs other duties as required.
WAGES AND BENEFITS:
-
Starting probatoinary pay is $17.32 / hour

Training will be provided
-
Employees will be enrolled in the MI schools retirement system
