We're looking for an experienced Project Manager / Shop Operations Manager to help lead our production team and ensure projects move efficiently from engineering through manufacturing and installation.
Position Summary
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for coordinating production, scheduling projects, managing workflow, and ensuring every job is completed on time and to the highest standards.
You'll work closely with ownership while leading the day-to-day execution of projects. The ideal candidate has experience in custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, commercial casework, or high-end woodworking.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the master production schedule
- Coordinate projects from release through installation
- Lead daily and weekly production meetings
- Schedule shop personnel and balance workloads
- Monitor project progress and proactively resolve production bottlenecks
- Coordinate with engineering, purchasing, finishing, and installation teams
- Ensure materials and hardware are available before production begins
- Review shop drawings and production documentation
- Perform quality control inspections throughout production
- Communicate project status with customers, contractors, architects, and designers when necessary
- Continuously improve shop efficiency, organization, and workflow
- Foster a positive, accountable, team-oriented culture
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of project management or operations management experience in custom cabinetry, millwork, woodworking, commercial casework, or finish carpentry
- Strong understanding of cabinet construction and manufacturing processes
- Ability to read architectural and shop drawings
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities
Preferred:
- Experience with Cabinet Vision or similar cabinet software
- Experience scheduling production in a custom manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and project management software
