Comeback Media is looking for a PT Nights/Weekends Editor to join the editorial team for Awful Announcing, the leader in daily sports media news, analysis, and commentary.
The ideal candidate is someone with editor-level experience and strong knowledge of the sports media industry. If you obsessively follow the latest NFL media rights news and can passionately break down your ideal NBA announcing booth, you’re the kind of candidate we’re looking for. There’s a difference between loving sports and understanding sports media; recognizing that distinction is important for this role. We’re also looking for someone who understands that stories about sports-broadcasting fragmentation and what Erin Andrews said on her podcast both have value and an audience, and who knows how to position them.
Candidates who will thrive in this role are strong communicators and effective collaborators. Someone who is a team player with a strong editorial voice. As you’ll be working with a small but passionate team of editors and writers covering breaking news, adaptability and a willingness to do the little things are key. The position calls for someone who can balance in-depth research, truthful storytelling, content strategy, and speed. A desire to learn and curiosity to find answers that aren’t easily available are necessities.
We’re looking for someone who is available 15-20 hours/week, can work West Coast hours, and has evening and weekend availability.

Requirements
- Editor-level experience, preferably around sports or media verticals.
- Extensive writing proficiency in sports, media, or sports media.
- Excellent grammatical and editing skills.
- General knowledge of sports media and sports business industries.
- Interest and enthusiasm in social media, video, and other promotional tools.
- Evening and weekend availability.
- Familiarity with WordPress.
- Willingness to work remotely.
Pay: $2,000.00 - $3,000.00 per month
