EXTRUSION ASSISTANT!
PAY: $17/hour
Day shift 8a- 8p
The Extrusion Assistant is an entry-level production role responsible for safely operating downstream packaging activities on mono-layer blown film lines, maintaining product quality, supporting Extrusion Techs during startups and changeovers, and ensuring housekeeping, safety, and production standards are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of this Extrusion Assistant
Package finished product according to work instructions and customer specifications.
Inspect product for visible defects and notify the Extrusion Techs of quality concerns.
Apply correct labels and documentation to finished product.
Assist with line startups, shutdowns, and product changeovers.
Monitor winding and packing areas for safe operation.
Maintain clean work areas using 5S principles.
Supply packaging materials and remove finished products as directed.
Follow all applicable company policies, OSHA requirements, and regulatory standards.
Complete production records and quality checks accurately.
Communicate issues promptly to the Extrusion Tech or Supervisor.
Participate in continuous improvement and waste reduction initiatives.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Maintain safe work practices, keep assigned areas organized, clean, and audit-ready.

Maintain accurate labeling and documentation.
Required Qualifications of the Extrusion Assistant
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Basic math and reading skills.
Willingness to learn blown film extrusion processes.
Ability to use and read measuring instruments.
Ability to safely operate or learn material-handling equipment as authorized by the company.
Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 70 pounds and, at times, lift a maximum of 70 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Heavier materials may be moved through team lifting procedures or approved mechanical assistance.
