Job Description:
To manage various expense and capital renovations, design, and construction projects at Jacobi and North Central Bronx facilities. Capital Projects works with various in-house departments and external vendors to upgrade and renovate the facility in order to provide better environment for patients, staff and visitors and to be code compliant.
Performs Related Duties as assigned managing design and construction projects throughout the facility. Some of these roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Reporting to the Director of Capital Budget and Contract Control within the Capital Projects Department, the Project Manager is responsible for the day to day project management for projects at specific facilities assigned and will operate as the direct interface with the contractors, vendors, construction managers and design consultants’ staff to effectively govern the construction schedule and maintain cost control
- Manages all aspects of design and construction projects including; defining scope of work, holding regular meetings to update team of status, managing regulatory submissions, budgets, schedules, the design process, construction process, project closeouts, quality control, and adherence to project specifications and drawings
- Works as part of the Project Team, assisting with the development of scope, cost, and schedule for project work.
- Work closely with internal staff and external vendors to establish the requirements for the project and its execution.
- Maintains project records including; design drawings, submittals, as-builts, correspondence, regulatory submissions, financial statements, and all other project information.
- Manages and/or develops the project equipment lists and requirements by assisting the Director in overseeing design meetings with facility employees and design consultants
- Including review of design documents for compliance with end user programs, facility standards and needs, regulatory agency requirements and codes
- Review proposals, project documents and negotiate with vendors as needed.
- Develop scope and schedules for assigned projects.
- Coordinate and track all project documentation. Maintain accurate and consistent electronic files and documentation.
- Coordinate activities of various teams and relocation of clinical functions.
Tour 2: 9am-5pm
Minimum Qualifications:
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, architecture, construction management or in an approved related program; and
2. Five years of responsible capital program implementation-related experience, including at least two years in administration, management, or expediting substantial phases of capital projects; and
3. Ability to handle complex, allied, technical and commercial problems related to various project management functions with independent judgment, tact, and initiative.
4. Related experience may be substituted on a basis of two years of experience to one year of education.
5. Graduate education may be substituted for up to one year of experience.
