A contents cleaner (or restoration technician) restores, cleans, and packs personal belongings—such as furniture, electronics, and clothing—damaged by fire, water, mold, or storms. They inventory items on-site, transport them to a cleaning facility, and use specialized deodorizing and cleaning tech to salvage items.
We need a detail-focused Contents Cleaning Technician to help families and businesses recover after property damage. You will carefully pack, log, clean, and restore personal property with care and respect.
- Pack and Inventory: Sort, wrap, box, and log damaged and undamaged personal items using inventory software.
- Clean and Restore: Use specialized cleaning agents, ultrasonic tanks, or thermal deodorization to clear smoke, soot, water, and mold damage from belongings.
- Handle Transport: Safely load, secure, and unload items, boxes, and equipment into company transport vehicles.
- Communicate: Update project managers and show empathy when interacting with stressed homeowners undergoing insurance claims.
- Maintain Safety: Keep the work area clean, follow safety rules, and properly handle various restoration chemicals.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License: Required to drive to job sites and facilities.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly (and up to 100 lbs with help).
- Attention to Detail: High level of care when documenting and cleaning fragile or sentimental personal property.
- Experience: Prior janitorial, packing, or disaster restoration experience is a strong plus.
