SUMMARY: The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the D-SOAR Ultra High-Power-Fiber Laser and Plasma Table. This role ensures efficient production, precision cutting, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Duties include loading materials, monitoring cutting processes, inspecting finished parts, and performing routine maintenance to keep the machine operating at peak performance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor the fiber laser and plasma table to cut metal components according to specifications.
- Quality Control: Inspect parts for accuracy and quality; make adjustments as needed to maintain tolerances.
- Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs to ensure consistent machine performance.
- Collaboration: Work with the Maintenance Manager and Small Parts Supervisor for initial training and maintenance procedures.
- Safety: Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Production Efficiency: Monitor cutting operations, identify improvement opportunities, and assist in optimizing output.
- Meet production schedules and expectations.
- Operate cranes, forklifts, and other equipment to move material and components.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area; perform housekeeping duties as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with CNC laser cutting or similar fabrication equipment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Basic computer skills; familiarity with MRP/ERP systems a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills.

- The employee must occasionally lift and /or move items up to 35 pounds.and utilize lifting aids to move heavier objects
- Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: Forklift, crane, laser cutting machine.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- This is a full-time position
- Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Fridays 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays as needed from 6:00 a.m. to noon
