Registered Nurse (RN) – Step-Down Unit | Night Shift
Location: Rome, NY 13440
Contract: 13 Weeks | Possible Extension
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: 12-Hour Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Compensation
- Local RN: $65/hour on W-2
- Travel RN: $2,600/week
- Travel Radius Rule: Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Step-Down/Telemetry for a 13-week contract assignment in Rome, New York, with the possibility of extension.
The RN will provide high-quality nursing care to an adult and geriatric patient population in a step-down setting. Candidates should have strong clinical assessment skills and experience caring for patients requiring close monitoring and telemetry.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care.
- Monitor and assess adult and geriatric patients in a step-down/telemetry setting.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and patient conditions.
- Recognize changes in patient status and respond appropriately.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
- Follow hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Provide patient and family education as appropriate.
Requirements
- Active New York State RN License
- 1–2 years of Step-Down and/or Telemetry nursing experience required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Experience with adult/geriatric patients
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (7 PM–7 AM)
- Strong communication and clinical assessment skills

Submission Requirements
Candidates must provide:
- Current NY State RN License
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Copy of Driver’s License
- Two professional references
- COVID-19 vaccination documentation
Pay: $2,550.00 - $2,600.00 per week
