Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Insurance Claims Specialist / Claims Handler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing property insurance claims from initial filing through resolution, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong client communication throughout the process.
This position is focused on in-house claims management after the client is signed, not estimating or sales. Your role will be to move claims forward, coordinate with all parties involved, and help bring claims to successful and timely resolution.
Responsibilities
- Manage claims from initiation through final payment and closure
- Review and process claims, ensuring all required documentation is complete and submitted
- Analyze policy details, claim documentation, photos, estimates, and reports
- Communicate with homeowners, insurance carriers, adjusters, and internal team members
- Provide clear updates to clients and guide them through the claims process
- Follow up consistently with insurance companies to keep claims progressing
- Identify delays, missing information, or issues and take proactive steps to resolve them
- Assist in negotiating fair and timely claim settlements
- Maintain detailed and organized claim notes within CRM systems (Monday.com preferred)
- Coordinate with estimators, field reps, and management as needed
- Prioritize and manage multiple claims at various stages simultaneously
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and insurance best practices
- Analyze claims for accuracy, completeness, and potential issues (no heavy fraud investigation required)
Requirements
- Experience in property insurance claims, public adjusting, or restoration industry preferred
- Strong understanding of the property claims process (water, mold, fire, etc.)
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with CRM systems (Monday.com is a plus)
- Familiarity with Xactimate is a plus (not required for estimating)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
