Your Role
You'll provide comprehensive outpatient psychiatric care while helping patients improve their mental health and overall quality of life. Responsibilities include:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and establish diagnoses
- Provide medication management and ongoing psychiatric care
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and the care team
- Treat a wide range of mental health and substance use disorders using evidence-based practices
- Provide Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for eligible patients
- Order and interpret laboratory studies related to psychiatric medication management
- Coordinate care with therapists, primary care providers, case managers, and community partners
- Identify patients requiring higher levels of care and coordinate appropriate referrals
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records
QualificationsRequired
- Current certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Active Kansas PMHNP license (or ability to obtain)
- Active DEA registration
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to culturally responsive, patient-centered care
Preferred
- Experience in community health, outpatient behavioral health, or integrated care
- Experience treating both pediatric and adult patients
- Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) experience
- Experience working with underserved or culturally diverse populations
