Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive ERO and PTIN Holder Tax Preparer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and compliant tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations. Your expertise will help clients navigate complex tax laws while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for diverse client portfolios, including individual, corporate, partnership, and non-profit entities
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements
- Conduct detailed tax planning and consulting sessions to optimize clients’ financial positions
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax legislation such as tax law updates and regulatory compliance accounting standards like GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Assist clients with complex issues such as estate planning, mergers & acquisitions, and securities law considerations
- Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to tax filings
- Utilize various accounting software tools including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial software to prepare accurate financial statements and reports
Skills
- Extensive experience in tax return preparation for individuals and businesses with a strong understanding of tax law and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and similar platforms
- Knowledge of estate planning, wills, trusts & estate law as well as corporate accounting practices
- Familiarity with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), regulatory compliance accounting, and financial report writing
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret financial statements and conduct account reconciliation
- Experience with auditing procedures, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, and general ledger accounting
- Excellent client communication skills to explain complex tax concepts clearly and professionally
- Ability to handle multiple projects efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment
- Understanding of financial concepts related to sales, investment management, payroll processing, budgeting, private equity, asset management, and non-profit accounting
