Duties and Tasks
- Sort, wash, dry, iron and hang or fold all clothing, bedding, linens, etc.

Collect, sort, and weigh soiled laundry, linen, clothing etc. and place items in appropriate bins for laundering, spot treat as needed
- Operate flatwork ironer as needed

Fold, count, stack, hang, and distribute clean laundry, linen, clothing etc. to residents daily or as instructed

Perform routine equipment cleaning, such as removing detergent build-up in washers, and cleaning lint traps

Ensure an adequate supply of laundry/linen supplies are maintained in designated areas to meet the resident's daily needs
- Carry out annual deep clean schedule

Inform supervisor on par level or quantity of supplies

Observe established safety practices and procedures in working with the chemicals, materials, and equipment used in performing laundry duties.

Weekend and holiday rotation - will work as housekeeper on assigned weekend/holiday shift

Performs other duties as assigned

Notify Maintenance of the need for repairs

Attends all required in-service education and training classes including safety update programs to maintain technical knowledge

Consistently demonstrates the ability to meet time schedules and deadlines
Minimum Qualifications
- Prioritizes assignments to complete work in a timely manner
-
Ability to operate commercial washers and dryers and flatwork ironer
-
Ability to lift, pull, carry, and/or push objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
-
Ability to stand, walk or bend for long periods of time
-
Ability to be around strong odors, disinfectants and other air contaminants throughout the workday
-
Ability to work with detergents and other cleaning chemicals used in laundry without adverse reactions
-
Ability to keep simple records and to follow simple step-by-step instructions

Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Attention to detail
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with coworkers

Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning preferred but not required.
