American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an ICU/PCU combination unit requiring previous travel and EPIC experience, plus TTM/Zoll cooling skills.

Work in a combined ICU/PCU unit within an acute care hospital setting
-
Trauma Level 3 facility
-
Unit consists of 16 ICU beds and 14 PCU beds
-
ICU nurse to patient ratio is 1:1-2, PCU ratio is 1:3
-
Manage vented patients, post-PCI cardiac patients, Impella and IABP, stroke (TNK) patients, and Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) with Zoll cooling/thermoguard
-
Care for vascular, trauma, EtOH, sepsis, overdose, some abdominal trauma/surgical, and CRRT patients
-
Travelers are not assigned CV surgical patients
-
Titrate standard ICU drips including vasoactive and sedative medications
-
PCU role includes mild titrations with some pressors titrated within written parameters
-
Uses EPIC EMR system
-
Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts
-
36 guaranteed hours per week

Weekend rotation typically every other weekend, subject to need

Holiday coverage required as needed
-
No on-call or standby requirements, with possibility of extra shifts
-
Float requirement between ICU and PCU patients within the unit
-
Charge nurse role does not carry a patient assignment and supports both ICU and PCU
-
CNAs on unit at 1:8 ratio supporting VS, foley care, bathing, IV pulls, bladder scans, and specimen collection
-
In-house Hospitalist coverage 24/7 and Intensivist coverage 7 days a week, with eICU support overnight
-
Respiratory Therapy in-house 24/7 managing vents, respiratory treatments, specimens, and bronchoscopies
-
Telemetry techs monitor strips on-site and at sister facilities, though RNs must be comfortable reading and interpreting telemetry

Navy blue scrubs required

Active RN license, State or Compact, required in hand at time of submission

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
-
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred
-
Previous travel nursing experience required

EPIC EMR experience required
-
Experience with Thermoguard/Zoll cooling for TTM required
-
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility

Driver's license required for consideration
-
Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years worked, both including dates of employment and rehire eligibility

Provide direct patient care across a combined ICU and PCU unit, floating between patient types as needed
-
Participate in a collaborative, team-oriented department with strong staff engagement with travelers
-
Facility offers 2 days of unit/department-specific orientation
-
Scheduling support provided by a dedicated scheduling technician, with travelers expected to fill scheduling gaps and remain flexible
-
Block scheduling may be considered if it aligns with unit needs, though no special scheduling requests are guaranteed
-
Permanent employees of the facility must be separated from employment for at least one year before applying for a travel assignment
