We are seeking hands-on Aerospace Avionics & Hardware Assembly Technicians to support the assembly, integration, testing, repair, and evaluation of electrical and mechanical hardware used in aerospace and spaceflight systems.
We are interested in technicians from a variety of aerospace backgrounds. Strong candidates may come from avionics, propulsion/engine assembly, aerospace hardware assembly, electromechanical assembly, wire harness manufacturing, flight hardware integration, electronics assembly, or aircraft maintenance/production.
A college degree is not required. Hands-on technical experience is what matters most.
What You'll Do
- Assemble electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical aerospace hardware and components.
- Build and integrate components and subassemblies from engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and specifications.
- Perform precision mechanical assembly using hand tools, measurement equipment, fasteners, and controlled torque/torque tools.
- Support assembly of aerospace, flight, avionics, and/or propulsion-related hardware.
- Fabricate, terminate, install, repair, or test wiring and cable/harness assemblies.
- Perform soldering, electronics assembly, or board-level work when required.
- Use electronic test equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, continuity testers, or similar equipment.
- Perform dimensional/precision measurements using tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, or similar equipment.
- Install mechanical hardware, fasteners, and threaded inserts.
- Inspect completed work to applicable drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and workmanship standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical assemblies and assist with fault isolation and repair.
- Work directly with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to support new builds, modifications, testing, and process improvements.
- Follow ESD, tool-control, safety, quality, and production procedures.
- Document work accurately and maintain hardware traceability.
- Depending on experience, support polymeric processes such as staking, potting, encapsulation, or conformal coating.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of relevant hands-on technical experience preferred, particularly in aerospace, aviation, space, defense, electronics, electromechanical manufacturing, or similar precision manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience assembling hardware, components, or electromechanical systems.
- Experience working from blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, or technical documentation.
- Experience using hand tools and mechanical assembly equipment.
- Experience using torque wrenches, torque drivers, or other controlled-torque tools strongly preferred.
- Some experience with wire/cable/harness assembly, installation, termination, or repair.
- Some exposure to electronics assembly, soldering, PCB/CCA work, or electronic troubleshooting is preferred.
- Experience with aerospace propulsion, engine, launch vehicle, flight hardware, or similar precision assembly is highly desirable.
- Ability to consistently work the selected shift onsite in Kent, WA.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally work overtime as production/launch schedules require.
- Strong attention to detail, safety, quality, teamwork, and reliability.
Preferred Experience
Any combination of the following is a plus, but candidates do not need to have every item:
- Aerospace propulsion or engine assembly
- Flight hardware assembly/integration
- Avionics assembly or maintenance
- Wire harness fabrication and termination
- Soldering or PCB/CCA assembly/rework
- IPC/J-STD workmanship standards
- ESD/EPA environments
- Torque-controlled aerospace assembly
- Threaded inserts and aerospace fasteners
- Staking, potting, encapsulation, or conformal coating
- High-voltage, battery, power electronics, or RF systems
- Electronic test equipment
- Precision dimensional measurement
- Quality inspection or aerospace manufacturing standards
No college degree is required.
Work Authorization Requirement: Candidates must meet applicable U.S. export-control/work-authorization requirements for this position.
Pay: $32.00 - $42.00 per hour
Application Question(s):
- Briefly describe your hands-on experience assembling aerospace, aircraft, propulsion, avionics, or other electromechanical hardware. What types of components or systems have you worked on?
- Have you used torque wrenches/torque drivers for controlled hardware assembly, and what experience do you have with wire harnesses/cables and/or soldering/electronics assembly?
- This position is fully onsite in Kent, WA with two available shifts: Mon–Thu, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM OR Fri–Sun, 5:00 AM–5:30 PM. Which shift can you reliably commit to?
