A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Counsel to join its nationally recognized Eminent Domain & Inverse Condemnation Practice. This role offers the opportunity to represent public and private sector clients in complex real estate, property rights, land acquisition, and condemnation matters.
The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation experience, excellent legal writing skills, and the ability to independently manage significant matters from inception through resolution. This position is well-suited for a seasoned attorney looking to take ownership of sophisticated litigation matters within a collaborative and collegial environment.
Key Responsibilities

Represent clients in eminent domain, inverse condemnation, and real estate litigation matters

Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive legal filings

Conduct and defend depositions, manage discovery, and develop litigation strategy

Review and analyze title reports, property records, easements, and related real estate documents

Conduct legal research and prepare case analyses on complex property and valuation issues

Collaborate with clients, experts, and legal teams throughout all phases of litigation

Manage multiple time-sensitive matters while maintaining a high level of client service
Qualifications
-
J.D. from an accredited law school
-
Active membership in the California State Bar
-
8+ years of litigation experience
-
Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
-
Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
-
Experience taking and defending depositions
-
Experience reviewing title documents and real estate-related records
-
Experience with real estate litigation, property disputes, land use, eminent domain, inverse condemnation, valuation disputes, or related practice areas is preferred

Demonstrated ability to independently manage substantial matters and work collaboratively with clients and colleagues

Base Salary: $175,000 - $230,000, depending on experience and qualifications
