PBT Bancorp is seeking an experienced Loan Operations Assistant to support our lending operations through loan booking, post-closing maintenance, wire coordination, and operational support functions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in the various loan processes within a banking environment. This is NOT a remote position. This is IN OFFICE work position.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Mortgage Loan Officers and leadership teams throughout the loan lifecycle process
- Perform loan booking, boarding, and system setup activities accurately and within established timelines
- Process loan maintenance requests, servicing updates, and account changes in accordance with internal procedures
- Prepare, verify, and submit wire requests while ensuring compliance with bank policies and security protocols
- Assist with escrow administration and insurance-related matters, including insurance documentation tracking, borrower follow-up, policy updates, and coordination with insurance providers and closing agents
- Manage participation loan payment activities and related reconciliation support
- Respond to customer inquiries, correspondence, and research requests in a professional and timely manner
- Assist with credit report dispute resolution and supporting documentation review
- Review loan documentation for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance prior to submission and funding
- Coordinate effectively with processing, underwriting, closing, post-closing, and servicing teams to ensure smooth loan flow and operational efficiency
- Maintain organized and accurate electronic loan files, records, and tracking systems
- Ensure adherence to bank policies, investor guidelines, and applicable federal and state regulatory requirements
- Communicate professionally with borrowers, attorneys, title companies, vendors, investors, insurance carriers, and internal departments
- Assist with post-closing quality control, document tracking, collateral follow-up, and servicing support as needed
- Support departmental operational initiatives and process improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and service standards
Qualifications
- 3 years of loan banking experience required
- Experience with residential, retail, 1–4 family, and commercial/CRE lending
- Strong understanding of loan operations and loan lifecycle
- Experience handling wires and loan maintenance functions
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Banking experience strongly preferred

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
