About Eglet Law
Eglet Law, Nevada’s premier plaintiff trial firm. Our firm has recovered billions of dollars for clients and is known for handling complex, high-stakes litigation involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, product liability, trucking, premises liability, insurance bad faith, and other significant civil matters.
The Overview
We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and motivated Legal Assistant to support our attorneys in managing deposition scheduling, calendaring, and case coordination. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with foundational legal assistant experience who is eager to take ownership of their work, grow within a respected firm, and contribute to meaningful litigation.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced position that requires independence and initiative. The right candidate will thrive on staying ahead of deadlines, keeping attorneys and staff informed, and ensuring that all moving parts of the deposition and mediation process run smoothly — with minimal direction.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and calendar all attorney depositions of defendants' witnesses across active cases.
- Maintain a comprehensive checklist tracking case progress and ensuring all depositions are completed within the discovery period for each case.
- Coordinate with opposing firms, representatives, court reporters, and other parties to arrange deposition logistics, including location, time, and technology needs.
- Send all required deposition notices to defendants.
- Regularly review case progress with attorneys to ensure depositions are on track and completed in a timely manner.
- Schedule and calendar mediations.
- Keep all staff and attorneys informed of scheduling updates, changes, and deadlines.
- Manage calendaring through Outlook, including coordinating Teams and Zoom meetings as needed.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of law firm administrative or legal assistant experience.
- Demonstrated experience with scheduling and calendaring for attorneys.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple cases while meeting demanding deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Outlook for calendaring, Teams, and Zoom), Adobe Acrobat, and case management software.
- Self-starter mentality — you take initiative without waiting to be told what to do next.
Preferred
- Understanding of Nevada state court procedures and litigation deadlines.
- Experience with CloudLex, TrialPad, or similar litigation platforms.
