Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator
Position Summary
Allied Development Group is a site development, excavating and utilities contractor based in Lancaster, Ohio. We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of heavy equipment on commercial, industrial, and civil construction projects. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Our work is in the Central Ohio area.

Safely operate heavy equipment including, but not limited to:

Hydraulic excavators

Bulldozers
-
Wheel loaders
-
Backhoes
-
Skid steers
-
Mini excavators
-
Motor graders
-
Rollers/Compactors
-
Articulated dump trucks
-
Perform excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, demolition, loading, and material handling.

Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and site plans.

Work closely with foremen, supervisors, laborers, and other operators to complete projects efficiently.

Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment.

Identify mechanical issues and report maintenance needs promptly.

Maintain equipment in a clean and safe operating condition.

Follow OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

Ensure work is completed according to project specifications and quality standards.

Assist with site cleanup and other construction tasks as needed.

Work in varying weather conditions and on uneven terrain.

Minimum 3–5 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment.

Experience on commercial, industrial, utility, or site development projects preferred.

Ability to safely operate multiple types of equipment.

Strong understanding of excavation, grading, trench safety, and utility installation.

Ability to read construction drawings and grade stakes is preferred.
-
Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus.

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred but not necessary.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment.

Frequently climb on and off equipment.

Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Work outdoors in hot, cold, wet, and dusty conditions.

Good vision, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination.

Ability to safely work around underground and overhead utilities.
