Job Summary
The Mental Health Therapist will provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive mental health services to participants enrolled in the Safe Space Project. Services include biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning, individual therapy, crisis intervention, care coordination, and collaboration with community partners.

Responsibilities
Direct Clinical Services
- Provide individual therapy services to assigned program participants
- Complete biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in a timely manner
- Utilize evidence-based and culturally responsive interventions tailored to participant needs
- Support clients in identifying goals related to emotional wellness, coping skills, relationships, self-esteem, trauma recovery, and life stability
- Conduct risk assessments and safety planning when clinically appropriate
- Provide crisis intervention and stabilization support as needed
Care Coordination & Community Collaboration
- Coordinate care with community partners, case managers, schools, medical providers, and other support systems
- Assist participants with referrals to mental health, medical, housing, employment, educational, and community resources
- Collaborate with program staff to support participant engagement and retention
Documentation & Compliance
- Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to deliver remote mental health services while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency, ethical, and legal standards
- Maintain participant confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
- Participate in audits, quality assurance reviews, and program evaluations as needed
Team Participation
- Attend required supervision, clinical consultation, and team meetings
- Participate in trainings and professional development opportunities

Qualifications
Required
- Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field
- Registered Associate in California (AMFT, ACSW, or APCC)
- Experience providing individual therapy to diverse populations
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and community mental health practices
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
Preferred
- Experience working with marginalized communities, including unhoused individuals, justice-impacted populations, immigrants, LGBTQ+ individuals, and communities of color
- Experience in community mental health, nonprofit settings, or outreach-based programs
- Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
- Experience facilitating psychoeducational groups and workshops

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
