Job Description:
The Community Outreach & Clinical Research Recruitment Specialist serves as a crucial ambassador for Key Clinical Research by increasing community awareness of clinical research opportunities and supporting participant recruitment efforts for active and future clinical studies.
This role is responsible for developing and maintaining referral relationships, generating qualified patient leads, coordinating community engagement initiatives, and supporting enrollment goals across multiple clinical research studies. The ideal candidate is highly relationship-oriented, comfortable speaking in public, and passionate about connecting patients and caregivers with opportunities to participate in research.
The position requires frequent interaction with healthcare providers, senior living communities, advocacy organizations, caregivers, and community stakeholders. Flexibility to attend occasional evening and weekend events is required.
Community Outreach & Relationship Development
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with physicians, specialty practices, senior living communities, memory care facilities, home health agencies, and community organizations.
- Conduct regular outreach visits to referral partners and educate providers on current clinical studies.
- Represent the organization at health fairs, educational seminars, networking events, caregiver support groups, and community presentations.
- Maintain an monthly outreach calendar to ensure consistent community visibility.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource regarding clinical research participation opportunities.
Patient Recruitment & Enrollment Support
- Generate qualified patient leads through outreach initiatives, referral partnerships, and recruitment campaigns.
- Manage patient inquiries and conduct preliminary pre-screening activities.
- Coordinate scheduling of memory screenings, informational visits, research consultations, and study screening appointments.
- Maintain lead tracking and follow-up activities within CRM and recruitment systems.
- Collaborate with investigators, coordinators, and leadership to support enrollment goals.
- Identify recruitment barriers and recommend solutions to improve enrollment performance.
- Support participant retention initiatives.
Marketing & Community Education
- Promote awareness of the organization's mission, services, and clinical research opportunities.
- Assist with development of educational materials, recruitment campaigns, and presentations.
- Support social media initiatives, event promotion, and community announcements.
- Gather community feedback and market intelligence.
- Ensure all outreach activities comply with IRB-approved recruitment materials, HIPAA regulations, sponsor requirements, and applicable regulations.
Reporting & Performance
- Track outreach activities, referral volume, event attendance, lead generation metrics, and enrollment contributions.
- Prepare regular recruitment and outreach reports.
- Monitor recruitment trends and recommend growth opportunities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field, marketing, communications, business, public health, psychology, gerontology, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally.

- Strong project management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in clinical research, healthcare recruitment, or Alzheimer's disease studies.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in community outreach, healthcare marketing, patient recruitment, business development, or relationship management.
- Experience with cold calls and contacting leads via social media interest.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, GCP, and clinical research recruitment best practices.
- GCP, NIH, HIPAA, or IATA certifications
- Experience using CRM or patient recruitment platforms.
- Experience coordinating public events and educational programs.
