Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, watering, and assisting in procedures as needed.
- Maintain clean and sanitary kennels, cages, and common areas to promote health and hygiene
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to prevent injury or stress
- Support technician tasks such as bathing, and nail trimming to keep animals comfortable and presentable
- Monitor animal behavior closely, noting any signs of illness or distress and communicating with veterinary staff as needed
- Engage with pet owners by providing updates on their pets’ well-being and answering questions professionally
- handle laundry care by washing bedding, blankets, and towels through the day
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with animals in a kennel, veterinary clinic, or pet care setting is highly preferred
- Experience with veterinary procedures or as a veterinary technician assistant is a strong plus
- MUST be able to lift 55lbs minimum
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and a compassionate attitude toward animals
