Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Nurse Director of Emergency Services to lead our fast-paced emergency department. This vital role involves overseeing the delivery of high-quality patient care, managing clinical staff, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Duties
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of emergency department operations, ensuring efficient patient flow and timely care delivery.
- Supervise nursing staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development.
- Develop and oversee care plans tailored to individual patient needs, incorporating case management principles and resident-specific considerations.
- Monitor patient conditions continuously, utilizing medical terminology and physiology knowledge to assess severity and prioritize treatment.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding medical records, documentation review, and ensuring proper medical record documentation.
- Oversee shift management, resource allocation, and staffing schedules to optimize coverage during peak hours and emergencies.
- Manage departmental budgets, control costs, and ensure adherence to Medicare guidelines while supporting quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement care strategies for residents’ specific needs across acute care, hospice care, home health, assisted living, and home care settings.
- Ensure staff are trained in EMR systems for accurate documentation and efficient patient monitoring.
- Foster a culture of safety by promoting best practices in infection control, patient safety protocols, and emergency response procedures.
Skills
- Extensive critical care experience with a strong understanding of emergency physiology and anatomy.
- Proven management skills with supervising experience in healthcare settings such as assisted living or hospice care.
- Expertise in nursing management, including shift management, team leadership, and staff development.
- Proficiency with EMR systems for medical records management and documentation review.
- Deep knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and healthcare compliance standards.
- Strong case management skills with the ability to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual residents’ needs.
- Familiarity with Medicare policies and reimbursement processes related to emergency services.
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Ability to handle complex situations involving resident’s <PERSON> by making informed decisions quickly while maintaining compassion. Pay: $130,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
