The Senior Operations Leader is accountable for providing leadership and direction to Production Teams in order to meet business requirements for the efficient production of metal in a continuous improvement environment. Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Senior Operations Leader is responsible to ensure a safe and productive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the team in safely producing the highest quality product
- Act as backup for the Production Superintendent
- Coaches employees for effectiveness, efficiency, performance, safety practices, and adherence to procedures; corrects behaviors and actions as needed
- Ensure team performance goals are aligned to department and plant business objectives and communicated to the team
- Actively participate on a variety of teams and in meetings focused on improvements to the Hot Mill department.
- Comply with all employment laws and Arconic Equal Opportunity Policies in all hiring, promotions, demotions, and disciplinary actions
- Provides adequate direction for team; maintaining clearly stated work assignments and providing assistance when needed
- Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees
Ensure that EHS incidents and quality issues are appropriately investigated and corrective actions implemented on a timely basis

Basic Qualifications:
- 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- 5 years of production experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
- 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment;
- 7+ years of production experience in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated success in coaching and developing high performance teams;
- Ability to translate corporate and plant business objectives into meaningful and achievable business goals for the department;
- Experience with AS400 and Oracle;
- Operational knowledge regarding process, equipment capability, practices, systems;
- Ability to handle multiple projects/assignments concurrently and be results oriented;
- Demonstrated ability to use a computer, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point);
Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
