For more than 35 years, Medical Plus Supplies has been a privately owned Texas home medical equipment company dedicated to providing exceptional respiratory care to patients in their homes. As we continue to grow, we are seeking compassionate and motivated Respiratory Therapists who are committed to improving patient outcomes and delivering outstanding customer service.
As a Staff Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients successfully transition from hospital to home by providing education, clinical assessments, equipment setup, and ongoing respiratory care.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide in-home respiratory therapy services while ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate patient care.
- Educate patients, family members, caregivers, and foster homes on the proper use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of respiratory equipment.
- Evaluate patients' respiratory needs and collaborate with physicians to recommend appropriate therapies and equipment.
- Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment including ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP devices, oxygen equipment, suction machines, aerosol therapy, and related respiratory products.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with physicians, hospitals, case managers, referral sources, patients, and caregivers.
- Accurately document patient assessments, physician orders, care plans, education provided, and follow-up visits in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with physician prescriptions, Medicare guidelines, accreditation standards, and company policies.
- Participate in patient follow-up visits to monitor therapy effectiveness and identify opportunities for improved outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams regarding patient progress and clinical recommendations.
- Participate in the rotating on-call schedule to provide after-hours clinical support as needed.
- Maintain company vehicle, equipment, and inventory in a professional manner.
QualificationsRequired
- Current Texas CRT or RRT license in good standing.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Minimum one year of clinical respiratory therapy experience preferred.
- Valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel throughout the service area.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple patients and priorities.
Preferred
- Home Medical Equipment (HME) or Home Health experience.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
