Position Summary:
The Construction Assistant Superintendent will assist our Construction Superintendent who manages day-to-day construction activities, including site work, exterior shell construction, and interior build-outs. The primary goal of the Construction team is to safely and cost-effectively deliver new office space for the North Forest portfolio—on time, on budget, and in excellent condition.
Success in this position comes from building and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members. A sharp focus on scheduling, time management, and quality control is essential to ensure that each project stays on track and meets North Forest’s standards for performance and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist management in pre project planning efforts so the sub-contractors, vendors and North Forest will have a successful project implementation through site/civil, vertical/shell construction and Tenant improvements.
- Assist in managing all site, shell and interior construction for projects assigned to the team.
- This job is hands-on and physical and will require you to be able to gather materials and be expected to relocate to job sites, or supply houses with your own reliable transportation (valid driver's license necessary).
- Expected to be responsible for the cleanliness at job sites.
- Responsible for oversight and management of material inventory and staging.
- Support superintendent in maintaining schedule accuracy.
- Responsible for calling and communicating project timing expectations with subcontractors to ensure contractors are prepared and ready to begin on time.
- Help the superintendent coordinate orders and delivery of materials.
- Help the team maintain safety standards and follow best practices on construction sites at all times.
- Assist the team with performing simple hands-on construction tasks including painting and drywall repairs, manage the punch out of shells and interior offices as they near completion, and light experience in plumbing, electrical, framing, concrete, and landscaping as needed.
- Assist with special projects and over time will become fluent in the North Forest Business Model.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED, working toward or has an Associates degree in construction or a technical field and/or a combination of education and experience.
- Must be bilingual.
- Available to work overtime when necessary.
- Basic computer skills required.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Requires the ability to spend extended periods walking, standing, and moving across the construction site to oversee daily activities, ensure work is progressing as planned, and address any issues. Physical stamina is necessary for monitoring construction work, inspecting materials, and performing tasks in various weather conditions. The position involves frequent lifting and carrying of materials, as well as the operation of basic construction tools.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
