Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care across various medical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital medicine units, and emergency departments. Your expertise in phlebotomy, patient service, and medical assistance will ensure smooth clinical operations and positive patient experiences. Duties
- Provide administrative support to healthcare providers and medical staff in a Level I Trauma Center setting.
- Assist with patient care by taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and performing various clinical procedures.
- Administer medications and injections, as well as conduct blood draws and other phlebotomy procedures.
- Utilize medical terminology and anatomy knowledge to accurately document patient information and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment by performing tasks such as restocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and restocking exam rooms.
- Participate in patient education and support the delivery of internal medicine care.
- Assist with inpatient and outpatient care, including procedures such as inhale therapy.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including infection control and patient confidentiality protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from an accredited program is required
- Phlebotomy certification demonstrating proficiency in blood collection techniques
- Prior experience working in hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics preferred
- Knowledge of dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, geriatrics, or medical-surgical units is highly desirable
- Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation and patient management
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration procedures
- Ability to perform intake assessments, vital signs collection, and basic diagnostic tasks efficiently
- Experience working in high-pressure environments such as trauma centers or OR settings is a plus
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to care delivery.
