Responsibilities

- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies that encourage independence and social skills.
- Plan engaging lessons that incorporate physical education, math, and basic science to stimulate curiosity and cognitive growth.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about each child's progress, milestones, and any concerns related to child welfare or behavior.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of child development progress and incident reports.
- Create a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols, including first aid and CPR procedures.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development, incorporate special education strategies, and support early intervention efforts.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in a classroom or childcare setting, especially with toddlers or preschoolers.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development instruction, behavior management techniques, and classroom management best practices.
- Expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, and integrating math into early learning activities.
- Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention strategies, and standardized testing methods relevant to early childhood education.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
- Certification in first aid and CPR; understanding of mandated reporting laws is essential.
- Ability to implement inclusive teaching practices for children with diverse needs while maintaining a nurturing environment.
