Job Overview
Inclusion On Purpose is seeking a compassionate, creative, and self-motivated Customized Employment Specialist to join our growing team. This position focuses on helping neurodivergent adults discover meaningful career paths through person-centered planning, customized employment strategies, and strong partnerships with local businesses.
Unlike traditional job placement, customized employment begins with understanding each individual's unique strengths, interests, skills, and support needs. You will work closely with job seekers, families, employers, vocational rehabilitation counselors, and community partners to create individualized employment opportunities that benefit both the employee and employer.
This position combines community engagement, relationship building, career coaching, and job development. The ideal candidate enjoys networking, thinking creatively, advocating for others, and helping people succeed in competitive integrated employment.
Responsibilities
- Discovery & Career Planning
- Conduct Discovery activities to identify each job seeker's strengths, interests, skills, and ideal work environment.
Employer Development
- Build relationships with local businesses and community partners.
- Conduct informational interviews and workplace observations.
- Identify opportunities for customized employment, job carving, and negotiated positions.
- Educate employers about neurodiversity, workplace inclusion, and the benefits of hiring neurodivergent employees.
Employment Support
- Assist clients with resumes, applications, interview preparation, and workplace communication.
- Provide individualized job coaching during onboarding and throughout employment as needed.
- Develop natural supports within the workplace to promote long-term success.
- Help employers implement accommodations and inclusive practices when appropriate.
Documentation & Collaboration
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with Medicaid, Vocational Rehabilitation, and organizational standards.
- Track client progress toward employment goals.
- Collaborate with case managers, DVR counselors, families, and community providers.
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development.
- Develop individualized employment profiles and career plans.
- Facilitate person-centered planning meetings with job seekers and their support teams.
- Assist clients with identifying employment goals and next steps.
Qualifications
Required
- ACRE certification
- Passion for disability inclusion and neurodiversity.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Comfortable working independently in community settings.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout Boulder County.
- Ability to pass required background checks.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
