Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting ophthalmologists in delivering high-quality eye care services. This position requires a blend of technical skills, patient interaction, and knowledge of medical practices related to ophthalmology.
Duties
- Conduct preliminary eye examinations, including visual acuity tests and tonometry.
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of medical records for patients.
- Educate patients on proper eye care and procedures.
- Perform diagnostic tests using specialized equipment.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the examination area.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Utilize medical terminology accurately in documentation and communication.
Experience
Candidates that possess a background in the following is a plus:
- Experience in patient care within a healthcare setting, preferably in ophthalmology or optometry.
- Familiarity with medical records management and medical coding.
- Knowledge of anatomy related to the eye and common ocular conditions.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Nextech is preferred.
