Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with aseptic technique and infection control protocols.
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, and some prosthodontics, by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and providing chairside support.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners while maintaining proper radiation safety measures.
- Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.
- Collect vital signs and medical history information from patients to support comprehensive treatment planning.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly to enhance understanding and comfort.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting procedures and terminology.
- Knowledge of EMR systems such as dentrix is a plus

- Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology related to dentistry.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately while adhering to radiation safety protocols.
- Skilled in chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency during patient care.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in medical imaging, infection control, or related fields is preferred.
