Tatra Solutions is seeking Mechanic I personnel to supervise and perform electrical wiring harness work and to train and lead Aircraft Workers and Aircraft Helpers for the U.S. Coast Guard, Aviation Logistics Center.
Location: Elizabeth City, NC
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 0645–1515. 40 hours per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and/or perform electrical work in the disassembly, inspection, manufacture, repair, overhaul, testing, installation, and modification of aircraft and support equipment wiring harnesses.
- Train and lead Workers and Helpers.
- Resolve production issues in coordination with the Production Controller.
- Perform quality control inspections.
- Perform other Electrical Mechanic duties as assigned.
- Document maintenance actions in accordance with Quality Assurance (QA) and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain situational awareness and comply with all Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Defense (DoD) safety and operational procedures.
- Maintain and control assigned tools; report missing, lost, found, or unattended tools; inventory and inspect tools regularly.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area; properly store flammable materials and handle/dispose of hazardous materials per applicable regulations.
- Comply with all safety rules and procedures and promptly report accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in electrical aircraft maintenance, including disassembly, inspection, manufacture, repair, overhaul, testing, installation, and modification of aircraft and support equipment electrical wiring harnesses.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Must successfully complete a Tier 1 (or higher) federal background investigation with favorable adjudication in order to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC); employment is contingent on completion of this process.
- Must be physically capable of lifting, reaching, bending, walking, pulling, sitting, standing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and stretching for prolonged periods, including in cramped or awkward positions and while climbing ladders, work platforms, scaffolding, and aircraft structures.
- Must be able to carry items up to 40 pounds (assistance or lifting devices required for heavier items) and wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including for HAZMAT operations.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is performed in both shop and hangar environments at a Government industrial facility.
- May involve exposure to regulated industrial hazards (e.g., dust, metal shavings); required PPE and safety training will apply.
- Subject to Government security procedures including ID badge and, where applicable, sign-in/sign-out requirements.
Pay: $35.32 per hour
