**Overview:**
Black Swans Freight is a small, family-owned logistics company specializing in expedited freight. We currently service over 12 areas in the United States and are continuing to grow rapidly. We are seeking a Logistics Area Manager to oversee and coordinate daily transportation operations. The ideal candidate will have great organization and communication skills. A background in logistics and transportation management is preferred.
**Responsibilities:**
- Coordinate a team of drivers, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance
- Coordinate driver schedules and routes to maximize efficiency
- Utilize transportation management systems to track shipments and analyze data for process improvement
- Collaborate with other area managers to ensure timely delivery of freight
- Handle communication with drivers, clients, and internal teams effectively
- Monitor driver performance and address any issues promptly
**Requirements:**
- Excellent communication skills to interact with drivers, clients, and internal stakeholders
- Strong customer service skills
- Experience in management, logistics management preferred
- Proficient with Excel
- Strong analytical skills to assess transportation data and optimize processes
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of phone systems for effective communication
