Position Summary
As an Early Childhood Educator, you will work collaboratively with the teaching team to create engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that support each child's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. You will help maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom while building strong relationships with children, families, and fellow educators.
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and maintaining a warm, welcoming, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and lesson plans that promote learning through play and exploration.
- Support children's growth in literacy, math, social-emotional development, physical development, and school readiness.
- Observe and assess children's progress to help guide instruction and meet individual developmental needs.
- Foster positive behavior through proactive classroom management and respectful guidance techniques.
- Build positive, collaborative relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members.
- Support children with diverse learning styles and developmental needs by adapting activities and providing individualized support when appropriate.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe classroom environment that meets all licensing and health requirements.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding children's progress, developmental milestones, and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and administration to create a positive school culture and continuously improve classroom practices.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field (or equivalent experience as required by state licensing).
- CPR and First Aid Certification, or willingness to obtain certification within the first 90 days of employment.
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed early childhood setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create engaging learning experiences while maintaining a safe, inclusive, and organized classroom.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, flexibility, and willingness to learn and grow professionally.
- A genuine passion for teaching, nurturing, and advocating for young children.
